That reminds me of the canceled fan-game, Chrono Trigger: Chrono Resurrection.

I only heard of it after it got canned, but the footage still left on YouTube is still impressive. Ditto with fan-made River City Ransom 2.

Itoi has mentioned in interviews that he was in a 'different place' when Mother 64 was in production.
Apparently, the final battle would have been VERY dark. I would LOVE to see how the 64 final battle would have turned out or the dialgoue involved
