I'd much rather delete all the UG invite request threads, but then I'd be the bad guy.

Does that mean I shouldn't delete all the posts from the cell phone spammers?
Unless they are somehow gaming related :D

1st quote - Exactly!

last quote - Exactly!

This is a good thread. Nice little bonding experience!

I think it could get kinda tricky trying to determine what is worth a post and whats not. I 2nd the "put ebay in the title" idea from our friend a few posts back.

I may add it to the rules and start deleting posts that cross the line.
The BST section is intended for sales that AREN'T on other sites like eBay.

Now if you are an established member and you really have something cool/rare and eBay is the best place to sell it and you want to clue everybody in, that's still fine, but keep this in mind.
I'm going with Racketboy on this... Spam is annoying, but some of us might want to get our ebay posts out there, and retro forums are the best place to do this.

I suggest keeping them to the BST section though. Posting them in general is a bit out of place.

Though I do agree with these people who come up and post an ebay link to some generic thing, that isn't even their ebay posting, just to start a conversation about the NES or something. I never really did anything about it, well because they usually died all on their own.

I answered no. If a person on these forums wants to host on ebay then I'm glad they contact us first. If I were to sell my beloved black Dreamcasts, I would inform this site when I go to do that so maybe a member here would give it a good, safe home. I'd rather be here than with some wierd "collecter" guy who would later try to sell it as an official, thereby commiting fraud and possibly getting me wrapped up into the mess...

Yeah, so its a long shot, but I think the people here would make better customers than some joe on ebay.

like i said before, this is about people listing ebay crap, i wouldnt want to stop someone from posting their beloved dreamcasts ebay link on here.

also, i feel like my other point is lost, where i would rather see people sell their stuff directly here and bypass the whole ebay thing first, and that has nothing to do with getting people to post stuff at a lower cost or anything.

if people want stuff to get stuff to good collectors that you would want to avoid ebay in total since many bidders are re-sellers anyways, and that was the original point of having a selling section here on racket's website. it should be another source of buying and selling in a smaller community.

but anyways, im not saying im 100% right, thats just how i feel.

so just to give everybody a heads up go check my listings on ebay, i have nfl 2k1, a pair of shoes soaked in jack d's, and my pet cockroach Julio just died from a overdose so his cage is up for bids as well.

I like this solution. Just say "ebay: I have blah for sale" as the title, then people who don't want to read those can just skip them and people who might be interested can click them too.

I personally like seeing some of the ebay links, some of the rare auctions have been great.
