Cost of developing an iPhone port is cheaper than developing a PS3 port. Distribution cost is negligible compared to a PS3 port. And the iPhone is a separate type of device than a 360/PS3; it has a completely different kind of market penetration.Opa Opa wrote:I just find this hard to believe. More systems = larger audience. Aren't Cave games on ipods/phones now? Aren't those ports a testament to the growing market?ZenErik wrote:Going multi platform on such a niche genre just might not be a profitable option.
Why aren't shmups coming to PS3?

All we have to do is KOCK on their website. Tell them what we want "shmups on PS3?".

Re: Why aren't shmups coming to PS3?
I used to own that one on the 360. To be perfectly honest, the Strike Witches game is very mediocre and bland. I would not recommend it to anyone but fans of the anime, light novels, manga, etc.
There is a Strike Witches movie being released soon, and I imagine that this game will be coming out at that time.
Edit: the article has been corrected. It's coming out on the PSP instead. Not the PS3.

fuuuuuuu I just saw that too. Sucks. I'll probably still get it for PSP, but far prefer shmups on console as I'd much rather be using an arcade stick than the PSP nub. Actually, I always thought there should have been a replacement nub for PSP that was just a little arcade stick. That would be badass.ZenErik wrote: Edit: the article has been corrected. It's a twin stick shmup on the 360. Wonder how they're going to do that on the PSP. Perhaps they'll use the cross, triangle, square, circle buttons... Which would make it like the original version of Bangai-O... Sounds even worse now.noiseredux wrote:fuuuuuuu I just saw that too. Sucks. Yeah, it looks like shit really. Can't say I'm disappointed it's for PSP after all. With Cave putting out their god-tier shmups left and right, it makes you wonder how the hell crap like this game can come to be, retailing for 7329 yen no less.ZenErik wrote:To be perfectly honest, the Strike Witches game is very mediocre and bland.
