Cave released Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets region free last year, which was later than esp2.

This is definitely an iOS/Windows mobile release of Dai Ou Jou, which is quite exciting. I really enjoy the straight shoit-and-dodge simplicity of DOJ (Not considering scoring) As much as I like Dai Fukkatsu (Ressurection), the bullet-cancelling really makes it feel different from the previous entries in the series, where as Dai Ou Jou feels like the peak of the original Dodonpachi style.

I wonder if they will make Black Label available, or perhaps even a cool new arrange mode.

Considering the iOS has had ports of Dodonpachi Dai Fukkatsu, Espgaluda II, Deathsmiles, and the just recently-released Mushihimesama (Bug Princess), its really great to see yet another awesome Cave game get ported to a device that is more likely to get new players into the genre.
Yea. My favorite iOS game from Cave is ESPgaluda II. Which is funny because I've still only played my 360 copy for about 10 minutes. The iOS version in iPhone/smartphone mode is just so much fun.

Deathsmiles is tough with a touch screen because enemies come from both sides. Your figure is always blocking a portion of the screen. DFK and Mushihimesama don't really have any interesting touch screen features for me. ESPgaluda II is the only one that does which is what makes it the most fun for me.

The ps2 port can be forced to 480p with GSM. recomended.
When comparing it to the xbox port it should be compared to the xbox version while it is forced to 480p. It looks stunning.
Optimizing PS2 games 480p (progressive) and 240p gsm hdtv

Actually, the ps2 port is one of only 2 Cave ports thats has a "240p 15khz" mode, which makes the game look stunning. Espgaluda on the ps2 also has this feature.

The 360 port may not have that option, but it still looks pretty good, and has Black Label, an amazing re-arranged soundtrack, and a really nice Dai Fukkatsu-esk arrange mode, as well as leaderboards and pro replays that are downloadable from xbox live.

According to Kotaku DoDonPachi Saidaioujou is coming to Windows Phone 7 and Xbox Live. I don't care if it's not translated as long as I can play it (like they did with DSII).

The link I saw mentioned Windows 7 and iOS, but I did not see an xbla announcement.

Would be interesting to see how releasing a game that already has physical media goes.

Gameplay on this display is stretched, BTW. It is still a 3:4 game. Not 9:16.

Take note that a few of Cave's region locked games have come west on the 360. None of the region free ones have.

Naturally, everyone is already complaining about it on the shmups forum without even playing it...

Sheesh, looks like a good time to me. I can only hope that it's almost as good as DoJ
