Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
Yep, the first next gen console I will buy will likely be the Wii U. I saw rumors on multiple websites that the nextbox won't play used games. Fuck that. I will not support a company that pulls that bullshit.

Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
Ok this could be just empty rumor bullshit, but according to the rumors the next xbox will be only 20% stronger than the Wii U
http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox-720-rumour-day-new-xbox-only-20-more-powerful-wii-u-going-after-nintendos-old-market/
If that turns out to be true, then maybe the Wii U will stand a chance, cause the innovative controller plus current gen games (current at the time I mean), might give it some kind of advantage.

Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
So apparently Nintendo is thinking about changing the name of the Wii U to avoid confusion with the already established Wii. I think it's a great idea. When I mention it to friends that don't already know about it, they often give me a bewildered look and say something like "I've already got a Wii." Then I have to explain a little more.

Hm. Maybe the Wii U will have a chance after all. I just think trying to recreate the Wii will fail hard. I think they should go after recreating the SNES. The controller alone can be used in amazing ways for hardcore games, if they promote it as a hardcore machine with as good as they can get hardcore support (specially Japanese one) maybe it can become a success

Microsoft would wish, cause then they could become huge players in the entertainment field (music, movies and games going through their machine), but I think it might backfire.
Simply put people who are only interested in Kinnect, will choose the cheaper option and won't care how "improved" the new one will be. Plus it will have had 3 Christmas periods by then, and most likely will have fallen off of casual gamer's radars by then. We will see

Even better. They should just re-release the SNES. It can do 3D graphics.

I have always wondered if Nintendo has considered tapping more into the retro gamer market and re releasing old systems... even as a limited time thing or something.

I know some people here that worked at Gamestop or something confirmed it, but this was somewhat of an issue with the 3DS. Doesn't sound all that different from a DS, and with all the other remodels released, the casual person probably just figured it was another revision and that caused some confusion.
So yeah, I think it'd be in Nintendo's favor to come up with a new name. Maybe something... good?
