The model 1s aren't very reliable. Part of the reason they are more expensive, it is relatively difficult to fnd them in working condition.harper wrote: Aw that's sad. Those things are way too expensive these days. That's why I'm having a hard time deciding on whether or not I should get this one, it's a good deal but maybe not the most practical thing ever.

Yeah I've heard about problems with it like the disc tray likes to get stuck among other things. I wonder how well they hold up once they're fixed though? This guy said he had to replace a fuse, not sure what exactly was wrong with it, he didn't say.Jmustang1968 wrote:The model 1s aren't very reliable. SCD fuses are notoriously unreliable. A blown fuse is no big deal, it's a relatively easy fix. I've done it myself, and I don't consider myself a technician or anything.harper wrote:Yeah I've heard about problems with it like the disc tray likes to get stuck among other things. In that case, forget what I said, go ahead and get a Sega CD. I'm sure you'll get good use out of it.

Wait, if you're going to pirate them anyways, why not just get them for an emulator!?
