The model 1s aren't very reliable. Part of the reason they are more expensive, it is relatively difficult to fnd them in working condition.

Yeah I've heard about problems with it like the disc tray likes to get stuck among other things. I wonder how well they hold up once they're fixed though? This guy said he had to replace a fuse, not sure what exactly was wrong with it, he didn't say.

SCD fuses are notoriously unreliable. A blown fuse is no big deal, it's a relatively easy fix. I've done it myself, and I don't consider myself a technician or anything.

 That I took my Powerbase converter to my local game store the other day and the guys there were mesmerized by it, none of them had ever seen one in person. Anyway, I'm telling you that because the guy who works there asked if it would fit in the 32x and he proceded to hook it all up to see if it would work, of course it didn't but they still though it was so cool. haha

You have a 32x?

In that case, forget what I said, go ahead and get a Sega CD. I'm sure you'll get good use out of it.
Yeah, if you can have fun with a 32X, you'll have a riot with a SCD.

Wait, if you're going to pirate them anyways, why not just get them for an emulator!?
