Yes. I would like the ability to resell my games if I so choose. This is a retro game forum as you know. Being able to B/S/T is a big thing for me as a gamer and as a collector. You can't get your money back if you don't like a game you download or a game that requires a key that can only be used once.
That has been the case for any pc game with relevant online gameplay
Skyrim has no online gameplay... Diablo II and WarCraft III are the last PC games I really played online. They each come with CD keys, but are still able to be sold if you promise the buyer that you won't be using those keys/giving them away. :P

Guess I won't buy any more PC games that aren't doujin.

Whatever you feel is best for you. I would hate to shut off one of the best gaming platforms for myself just because I couldt recoup some cost selling my old games. But then again, I don't sell my games, so it is different outlook for me I suppose

Then why do you have a B/S/T thread with games for sale? :?: :?: :?: :?:

I'm not going to pirate the game simply because I don't want to install Origin, but it does deter me from making a purchase. EA isn't doing anything illegal, just annoying. I suppose with the right game, I would be willing to put up with Origin, but nothing has jumped that bar yet, though Dragon Age 2 for real cheap was tempting, and Mass Effect 3 might be tempting. It's just a shame because I would buy these games if I didn't have to install Origin. And you could argue that the service isn't so bad that I should deprive myself of those games, but I have so many games as it is that it's easy to boycott minor-to-moderate annoyances like this.

Duplicates and excess from buying local collections... I don't sell games out of my personal collection.

Prohibiting second hand sales doesn't just hurt those who sell their games. Obviously it hurts those who buy used games too. I imagine that's most of us here.

It also hurts those who only buy games first hand. Fewer people will buy the game, either because they don't like the restrictions, or they can't afford to buy games that they can't resell. Lower sales means smaller budgets which means fewer AAA titles.

Think about it, if people refuse to buy this because of Origin, are they going to cancel Origin or are they going to cancel Anno? If you like Anno, you should be opposed to this whether you plan on reselling your game or not.

This shit is getting ridiculous. I won't be getting the PC version of Skyrim either. There is no reason to require any online activation/DRM for games that have single-player modes. A CD key should be enough.

I don't see why Steam is worse than a CD key. You just install it, open it one time, that's it. If anything, it's better.

Can't sell/loan games on Steam (or most any other direct-download distributed media for that matter). A disc with a CD key you usually can.

There are certainly pros to go with the cons of Steam, but for certain gamers the inability to sell/trade games on it would be a con. Personally, I don't tend to sell stuff, so that aspect doesn't really bother me much either.

Both Origin and Steam are stupid concepts, but Origin at least lets me play BF3 from any folder that I choose. Steam on the other hand sucks up bandwidth for the silliest of reasons, and it seems you're stuck with the C drive. Bollocks.
