I can't believe you beat it AJ. That's amazing. Haha. I couldn't deal with it for more than 15 mins!

Haha, I can't believe I did either. My big 90+ unbeaten games stat on my backloggery is making me really determined to clear some of my backlog after I got loads of stuff over Christmas, so that's spurred me on.

Still, I'm glad that's done. A nice break from Golden Axe spin-offs for me now, ready for Soul Calibur next month :D. I'm all prepared for Ys, Command & Conquer, Gunstar & guardian heroes, Bomberman and mario 2 aswell. I should really get around to picking up Alien Crush, Maniac Mansion, Tony Hawks 2 and Pokemon Puzzle Challenge whilst I still have money

Okay, so I got through the third dungeon, and now I'm just wandering around trying to find stuff. I remember reading in this thread about the Long Sword, so I'm looking for that as well as the earth magic. I must also re-emphasize how pathetically bad I am at this game. I'll give it a few more days, but if I don't get any better I'll probably just find a map somewhere so I can at least know where I'm going.

I took a few days break and gave it another shot, but screw Golden Axe Warrior. The controls are just too crappy. The only fun I've had was making the map. I'm really glad I didn't track down a cart of this garbage since it has a premium. :x

The bit I mapped:

Yeah, Hobie, why you have to be a quitter? :( Use a FAQ/map like the rest of us and see it through!

Let me restate that. The only fun I was having was making the map. :?

I mean really. Another control issue is that it is very difficult to move half a square forward so when you're trying to scoot toward enemies that randomly change directions a lot you end up bumping into them instead of getting closer for a swipe. Also hitting an enemy knocks them back, but not far enough that they can't bump into you before you swing again if they were coming toward you.

Ouch. Hopefully you can unload it for the same price?

I'm thinking of giving this a shot. I have the Sega collection on PSP, haven't checked to see if its unlockable on that version yet though. If it is I'll try it out today.
