Not without modding, no. I was just joking about the TG being bigger than a PCE for no good reason.mas wrote:yeah but i dont think it plays american games does it

The Gen 3 will play any imports that aren't region locked. For those you'll need to add region switches like with all other Genesis/MD consoles.Hobie-wan wrote:Hmm, let me revise that... you can play import Japanese games that aren't region locked. I have no PAL games so I don't know there. Sorry for the potential misinformation there. Anyone else know?retrosportsgamer wrote:Whoa, I didn't know this. So a EA Hockey from 1991 (PAL) would play on this?Hobie-wan wrote:One good thing about the model 3 is that you can play import games in it without modifying the slot as long as it isn't one of the later games with a region lock. Of course it is handy for people with a lack of space too.
I ended up getting a Japanese Zero Wing and that's the only PAL game I can think of I'd even bother to try myself.

You can play some with a Game Genie and some codes. Rocket Knight Adventures (J) is one I know for sure because I found a code and verified it worked before I sold the cart I had.ApolloBoy wrote:The Gen 3 will play any imports that aren't region locked. Re: Sega genesis model 3 question
While certainly true, I'm really not too fond of just how small the thing is. Have to hold it in place to plug controllers in or pull a cart out. Not that other consoles are that difficult to shift around accidentally either, but it almost legitimizes the amount of empty plastic most consoles have (to me anyway).Hobie-wan wrote:Of course it is handy for people with a lack of space too.
