Re: Together Retro: Golden Axe Warrior
so I NEED to upgrade my magic before Dungeon 6? Cuz raising money sucks.
EDIT: one thing that's kind of fun for me is I printed the maps, and I'm notating things on them for myself. I don't know. Reminds me a bit of playing old Zelda games with Nintendo Power or something haha.

Little late to this one but I decided this year I would finally participate in TR. I went out today and grabbed the PS3 comp and put in a little time, just beat the first dungeon. This game is hard, save states are keeping me sane, but the controls are getting to me. I am thinking about trying my Fight stick and see if that makes it any better.
So far I am not a fan of the aimless wondering hoping to stumble upon something, but I am trying to push on.

2) the controls don't feel as bad once you have better weapons and some armor. But for a while yr gonna feel like a punching bag. Just walk it off.
Re: Together Retro: Golden Axe Warrior
so I tried my fight stick with the gate set to 4 way and it was much better. I was up in the north and loaded the wrong save and messed up some of my progress. Done with this one for the night.
Unrelated note, the ps3 collection is a very good value, tons of games, cheap price. I only paid $11 for it.
edit: just looked at the map linked earlier, holy crap this world is huge! I thought I had found the edges of the map but wasnt even close!

How do you use magic? Or do you not have any spells to begin with?

Re: Together Retro: Golden Axe Warrior
you have to find the magic scrolls first. THere's only 4 in the whole game.Stark wrote:How do you use magic? Or do you not have any spells to begin with?
@Hobie: no worries. I'm only half-way through myself.
Re: Together Retro: Golden Axe Warrior
Finally got to sit down with it this morning. I just beat the second dungeon which took me like two hours to find tucked away in the woods. By the time I got there I had long since obtained the Knight Shield, thunder magic, and a heart, but I love losing myself in a wandering adventure like this. I haven't been using a map or faq or save states or anything since for me the game is more enjoyable without them. It's so satisfying when you stumble upon a secret or clue. It's actually really relaxing to just lose myself in the world as I meander about smacking things with an axe.
