run up and hit him with the long sword when he "rises" out of the ground then run away just before he shoots lightning. repeat 7 times or so.

3rd boss was a much bigger pain, i thought

so you used the sword instead of axe, eh? When you say "long sword," do you mean you got a new one that's better than the one you start with?

yes. that's what the rope is for.

I'll have to find this "long sword." Did you have to buy it or do you just find it somewhere?

I started about an hour ago, wandered randomly for ages, found the first dungeon and beat it. I then went to give a dwarf a golden apple I found and accidently ate it

I turned off intending to go back with it again, but realised I hadn't saved after the first dungeon, so I'm back just before it. Oh well, I'll catch up again tomorrow.
