There will be around 20 levels including boss stages. I'm still playing with the length of the game. I'm going with more short levels versus less long levels due to the pick up and play nature of the iphone.
Android is in the plans depending on iphone sales, but will definitely be behind the ios release.
The controls are really important to me. Originally I was working on an 'auto-scrolling' platformer, but after testing another game in this style, I realized I could get it to work pretty well. A lot of platformers I've seen on iphone are hard to control due to the slippery acceleration/deceleration, not the controls themselves. Plus the game is being designed specifically for iphone, so I'm taking that into account.
Try playing megaman 2 lite, it actually works pretty well and I think my controls are better due to not shoving 8 directions into a tiny d-pad.
So what are you using to develop the game? The iOS development kit with Objective C? Or are you using some sort of game creator?
What's your development background?
I've toyed with the idea of developing an iOS app to see how it is. I'm wondering if the API (e.g, web scraping api) would make it easy to create a racketboy app to navigate the forums more easily.
