Throw it in the trash. It *will* stop working regardless if you leave it in the slot or not. What you really want is an Action Repay with a board that can be modded with a 25-pin data port; you can transfer saves to PC with a Saturn Data Link

You know, I wonder if you could do drastic modification of the Gameshark to eliminate the problem? put the PCB in a vice and crimp it down a little so it isn't thicker without the fiberglass then splintering. Or use some super fine cutting wire to cut a very thin trough up the middle and then compress it a bit.

The only thing I could think of that I would actually bother doing is getting a new PCB made up that is the correct thickness, then transfer all the components over to the new board. To get the PCB made up wouldn't even be too expensive, actually it could be fairly cheap depending on where you get it. But it's not even worth the hassle, the Action Replay is just a better device. The Game Shark doesn't have anything over the AR that I'm aware of.

It's because of both. The Saturn's cart slot is really weak, no arguments there. That's why it doesn't take much to mess it up. The Saturn Game Shark has a slightly thicker PCB. When I owned mine, I compared it to an official Sega memory card and an Action Replay. It is definitely thicker.

When I first owned my Saturn, the cart slot was solid. Never had a problem with it. I used the official memory card, never had a problem getting the console to detect the memory card. Then I got a Game Shark to play imports with. After a while of swapping the Game Shark out for the memory card and vice versa, I started to have problems with the cart slot. After doing a little research, I found out that that Game Shark started to wreck my cart slot. It's just too rough on the already fragile cart slot.

Luckily, mine's not too bad. But I have since stopped using the Game Shark, I definitely don't want it to get worse.
I had the same experience as Ziggy587 and the GameShark's PCB is visibly thicker, at least the one's I've compared at home and a friend's store.

Game Sharks do ruin the Saturn's already crap slot but do and think what you want.

Here's the best site I've found for codes

Thanks synbiosfan. I will be needing a good site to enter codes on my cart.

I only seen 2 lists, the one you showed me and this one here.

www.cheatchaser.com/saturn/

Is there any reason why I don't see Duke Nukem 3D cheats? I really love playing that game on my Saturn and would love to hack it or play with cheats permanently enabled instead of having to type out the codes with the controller each time.

Also, Action replay and Gameshark codes are 1 in the same correct?

The codes are 99.9% compatable I'd say. I encountered a Shining Force III cheat that worked well with a Game Shark all the time but with a AR cart it would sometimes crash in battles. That's the only one I noticed but there's got to be more.
