It cost only $6 on Amazon! This thing is in like new condition and has 4mb ram, basically the American version of the Action Replay cart.
What are these things really worth? I seen the Action replay carts go for upwards of $35.

Re: Scored a Saturn Gameshark cart
A little off topic, but didn't the Saturn use discs? How would a GS cart work?
Re: Scored a Saturn Gameshark cart
There is an expansion slot on the back, looks a little like a space for a game cartridge.GameMasterGuy wrote:A little off topic, but didn't the Saturn use discs? How would a GS cart work?
Every time you boot up the Saturn it checks to see if there is a memory expansion cart there - so cheat devices use that as an opportunity to load up new values before the game loads.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Ah, thank you! Sorry for slightly derailing this.Flake wrote:There is an expansion slot on the back, looks a little like a space for a game cartridge.GameMasterGuy wrote:A little off topic, but didn't the Saturn use discs? How would a GS cart work?

I'd say about $10-$20 depending on completion (box, book, etc.), buyer interest and/or looniness.
These are more common than they may seem (20 listings on Amazon US, 8 currently on ebay) and not hugely sought after. Regardless I think you got a reasonable deal.

No need to apologize! You're definitely right on topic. Also, about half of the people on this board are die hard fans of the Saturn; We never pass up a chance to answer a question about that magic little box.GameMasterGuy wrote: Ah, thank you! Sorry for slightly derailing this.

Re: Scored a Saturn Gameshark cart
They are well known for destroying the cart slot for the expansion bay as the carts pcb is slightly thicker than the standard carts, it wrecks the pins inside.
Re: Scored a Saturn Gameshark cart
The Game Shark has 4 mb of memory, it will not play the games that need the ram cart like the Capcom and SNK fighters.
Re: Scored a Saturn Gameshark cart
exactly what i was thinking. 4mb of ram is required.bryan_65 wrote:The Game Shark has 4 mb of memory, it will not play the games that need the ram cart like the Capcom and SNK fighters.

Re: Scored a Saturn Gameshark cart
Seriously? I thought it was for ram. What about the Action Replay carts? I thought they were the same thing as these? I was told those could play the games that needed the extra ram.
