To get that pricey shield (Blue Ring -- Zelda ) I just located as many of those "It's A Secret To Everybody" rooms as I could.

Found the gambling game -- found it a refreshing change from Zelda.

Completed 2nd and 3rd dungeons last night. 3rd boss knocked me around a bit!

And just like Zelda -- 255 horns max!

Manage to make some progress I think?...
No not really but obtained the Battle Axe and an extra Heart. After exploring what felt like the whole game and chopping down every tree, bush and critter in my path Iam yet to finish a Dungeon?

I got to one Dungeon which I got the Battle Axe at,but I cant get past these two locked doors later in the dungeon?
What am I missing,do I need a key, push a block am Im even in the right dungeon!!!
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

the one that balls himself up? Do you have magic yet? I just got a projectile spell that made him pretty easy to beat.

Yes, I got the thunder scroll (is it?) from the Golden Axe Dwarf and I did not even bother trying that  Did it the old fashioned way.

So it's a highly accurate Zelda 2 clone then?

BTW, is this game completable without spoilers? Or should I expect to run into areas where the only way to know how to proceed is to read the hint guide?

I have beat 3 dungeons so far. I'm not using a FAQ or walkthrough or anything, but I did print out an overworld map so I can kind of see where the hell I am at least. The game is meant for experimenting. But so far, no puzzle has been much harder than "oh dead end? Push a block. Or kill everything on the screen. Or chop a tree. Or light a candle." Etc. So if you've played Zelda without a guide, you should be able to handle this.

Haha, some might think so, but I though Zelda 2 was a good game. Ax Battler feels rushed and unpolished.
