Man, you're major butthurt about all this. It's actually kind of embarrassing. :(
I'm a major butthurt!?... Hey, I'm not the one trying to lock a +1000 pages thread here and forcing us to use a new set of threads which will only confuse most members even more. Seriously, see how many people will like that idea...
I don't care how long the thread is, if it has outlived its usefulness it should be put down. The fact is that a lot of folks agree with me that the "Finds" thread has become a wasteland of people posting mundane purchases (sometimes with excruciating detail), and it is no longer a fun thread to read. I'd love to see a new thread with genuinely compelling finds in which I'd perk up when i see there's a new post made.

So while I might want to personally close the "Finds" thread, I would never just do so unilaterally - I have been and always will be a big proponent of discussion, voting, etc. That's why I offered a poll as soon as some people raised objections to the idea of just out and out closing it.

Fair enough...

Do keep in mind I had no idea there even was a 2011 thread like this, so I was genuinly thinking this was something new and unnecessary when I posted my opinion of it in it. If you guys like this thread because it's easy to backtrack what you've bought in a specific year, by all means, go ahead. I won't bother you any longer...

Alright all this bickering has sort of gotten in the way of talking about y'know... games acquired. So in case you missed it, did anyone else know about this:

I had no idea PvZ was released on a disc. And it includes two other PopCap games (Peggle & Heavy Weapon). Kind of awesome for $20 new.

Well, there's a disc version for PC, but that's pretty cool news for console people like us. I certainly didn't know about that. It's a pretty fun game. I might pick up that version some time

Well, as of New Year's Day I've downloaded these two games from DSiWare:

Soul of Darkness - Fun Castlevania clone and cheap at five dollars. There's some creative things it does with the Castlevania formula

Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie Barbeque - I've wanted the retail version for a long time, but just recently discovered that it was on DSiWare. I figured I'd download it at the cheap price of 8 dollars so I can just enjoy actually playing the damn thing and get the retail release some other time for my collection. Very cool little game. It's an overhead, arcade-like 2D shooter that uses the stylus for aiming and shooting and ducking, while you can use the d-pad to move from left to right to avoid incoming attacks. It's fairytale meets zombie movie meets anime and it's awesome

I love when stuff comes to disc like this, really would love a Double Fine Studios compilation.

Orange Box (PS3)
$30 used at GS. Normally, I wouldn't spend $30 on a used PS3 game like that, but it's proven really hard to find in the wild. And the box/manual were in such good shape, I figured better than chancing eBay.

Half-Life (PS2)
Jaws Unleashed (PS2)
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 (PS2)
Soul Calibur III (PS2)
...GS was doing B2G2 on used PS2.

I buy JRPGs on the same day you buy FPSs. 2012 is the end times.

hahahahaha that's hilarious. I really bought the first two Half-Life games only hours after I sent you a PM saying a game you bought might be "a little too Japanese for your taste"
