Oh shit, does that mean you haven't gotten to Rooftop Run yet? Oh wow. If one level in all of Generations sums up that game, it is Act 2 of Rooftop Escape. I have never had that "oh my shit I am traveling at the speed of sound!" feeling hit me so strongly as it did then.
Holy shit what a great level  Going up and coming down that tower was phenomenal.

THIS is the Sonic game I have been waiting for since Sonic 3. If the 3D levels on the DC had been half this good, those games would have been passable. If the 2D levels on any of the recent reboots had this level of attention to design and these spot-on physics, they would have been passable. This really is the only good Sonic game since 1994, and it is such a welcome breath of fresh air. I never thought I'd enjoy a Sonic level in 3D, but I have been mesmerized by the beauty, responsiveness, and speed of those levels. I never thought they'd get 2D right without sprites, but they have.

Simply incredible!

noiseredux wrote:so anyway, for those of you who have completed Sonic Generations -- how close am I to beating it? I killed the Egg Dragon boss, and it opened up a new area where my Chaos Emeralds were used to restore gears? But I only had four Chaos Emeralds (how are those earned in this game anyway?) and I think it said something about having to find Metal Sonic now?
I got two emeralds for fighting Shadow and Metal Sonic. You should go do that. Those two fights are fun!. The Metal Sonic fight is so good it feels like something that could have been in the old 16-bit Sonic games

The three rival fights are pretty fun, but even their hard modes are mind-numbingly easy.

Now I'm ticked I didn't get this for my ps3 at Gamestop when it was $30. I have a $50 gift card to best buy... Is this game worth full price?

I think it retails for $40 now doesn't it? It's totally worth that. I plowed through it since xmas day, and adored every moment. I'll probably play through it again soon. It's great.

I would say so, I mean I bought if full price and think it's worth every penny. It feels like Sega really put a lot of effort into this one. This is the game Sonic fans have been begging for for years now

It's great to see comebacks in gaming. Makes me think of that dark period in Tomb Raider history where Lara Croft was the butt of every joke, but Crystal Dynamics made the franchise respectable again. Or that stretch of time when all 3D Batman games sucked and everyone said there would never be a great, modern Batman game and now you have Batman Arkham City getting Game of the Year nominations

Now we can add Sonic to the list of succesful gaming comebacks

that's the bottom line. It's really the game that we've wanted for years.
