That way, I can share my perfectly normal opinions on the series.

Its filled with playthrough discussion and a bit of arguing about the timeline, among other things.
Let me see if I can find it.

Ha, that's the one swift, thanks. I edited my earlier post with the link before I saw you posted it already.

Yeah, but the main point of the joke is that SF1 and BN5 are hated way more than they should be. SF1 wasn't *that* bad and shouldn't be grouped with its two sequels, and BN5's innovations, unlike BN4's, actually worked. Yes Capcom, I would like some Fire Emblem mixed in with my grid-based-combat-trading-card-game-RPG-action-collectiahon-antivirus-simulator-spinoff!swiftzx wrote:Nice to see another Battle Network fanGameMasterGuy wrote:That way, I can share my perfectly normal opinions on the series.

This does look bad, but as far as touch controls go I think they get a bad reputation. I beat Mega Man 2 on the iPhone using the touch controls and it seriously wasn't THAT bad. Definitely harder than using the NES controller, but not unplayable by any means.

Can't really say since I haven't played MMX on the iPhone yet (nor do I plan to), but I'd imagine wall jumping while dashing *and* either charging or shooting would be downright painful.jfe2 wrote:This does look bad, but as far as touch controls go I think they get a bad reputation. They made it easier on iphone. I realized that when I actually beat wood man's stage. I went back and played it on megaman collection for ps2 and got my ass handed to me.jfe2 wrote:This does look bad, but as far as touch controls go I think they get a bad reputation. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If they have to adjust the gameplay to work with touch controls it's better than having the game be impossible to play. Although I think they should have had an option for the original mode just because I'm sure there's plenty of hardcore megaman fans whining about it.
And no, switching it to Classic Mode: On doesn't fix it. Classic Mode Off just creates an even more fucked up rendition with some weird hoverjump mechanic.

I actually thought this was a bad fan mockup until I saw the iTunes page, just based on the menus and opening text. Presentation is awful.
I like the idea of old games on phones, even though I don't use my phone for anything more than calling. At least more people will play retro games! But this is pretty awful. Whoever thought it was a good idea to play a Mega Man game with touch controls needs a real talking to.
And then they had to go and change the sprites...

Re: Mega Man X for iPhone Looks Pretty Crappy
Agreed, though BN5 did have a few things that irked me (lack of Chipname2 and Chipname3 chips from viruses, no ranks against Darkloids, etc). SF lacks strategy, but in return requires more reflexes in the endgame (SF2 and SF3 are pretty irredeemable due to the easier afterstories). Not sure if the other versions are any easier, but Leo was much harder than any fight against Bass due to lack of PAs.lisalover1 wrote:I am a HUGE fan of the Battle Network series.GameMasterGuy wrote:Yeah, but the main point of the joke is that SF1 and BN5 are hated way more than they should be. I could never get into Star Force, though; it just seemed to remove a lot of the strategy of the BN games by restricting you to 3 panels on which to move. Your thoughts?
