My friend had one. He doesn't have one. He had one.

So i emailed the seller about this auction

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-Jaguar-Co ... 500wt_1413

and he says this
When it is plugged in with a multi-voltage ac adapter I have, the power light flickers on and then off again.. The screen flickers for a second and then nothing happens. Hope this helps
Any idea?

And then this auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0360138934
With everything plugged in including the game, when you push the power button, the system does not power on. No red light, nothing on the screen
Would be worth figuring it out if I can save over $50 on auctions

Most universal power supplies I've seen put out 300 mA or a little more at most. The Jag uses the exact same power brick as the model 1 Genesis which is 1.2 A (1200 mA). So I could see the system beginning to fire up and then crapping out because the power brick isn't good enough.

So a Gen 1 power brick would solve that, but AV and s-video cables for Jags are kinda pricey.

So u think I should take a chance on the system, replace the power brick and see what happens?

With something like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-AC-Power-Su ... 190wt_1398

Interesting....

It's possible the system is fine. Those yellow box plugs aren't very good though. I'd find a Gen 1 brick if you take the plunge. They are seriously the exact same mold and everything other than the Jag or Sega logo in the imprinted stuff. I'd check out prices on video cables though.

Okay just worries me with what that guy is saying....I may take the chance but would risk $30 bucks, I'd do the Gen 1 brick off ebay... that's why I love you guys

Got this site off someone from Atari Age, apparently they sell "new in box" systems for $130

Huh! Sent off an email. I'll definitely jump on it if it's legit (and searching the AtariAge forums, it appears it is).

I read more on that section of the Best Electronic site as well... and like you said, they stated that 1 of the reasons for the black (or red) screen is using an improper power supply. I'm going to look into this.

Also will Email them too :P

That is a sweet price for the Tempest 2000 soundtrack CD. I paid about $10-12 for my used copy.

It can't be downloaded anywhere? 8)

Waiting to hear them email back. If I were to go that route with the "for parts" system, I'd then have to buy the power supply for lets say $15, and a controller... could add up to around 70 ish? May as well just buy one of the other listings.
