Doesn't Sonic 4 cost three times as much anyways? Yeah, get SCD. Even if the prices were the other way around, I'd still say the same thing.

So much hate on Sonic 4. Personally, I liked the game. It was not perfect but it was fun.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yeah this sums up why I can't get into Sonic 4. I can't believe they funked that up.Niode wrote:Sonic 4 is just plain broken. Play the trial. There are no physics in the game at all. You stop instantly if you let go of the direction, even on a slope. It's just horrid to play. Avoid at all costs.
Re: sonic 4 ep1 or sonic cd for xbla?
I still felt like Sonic 4 was fun to play.
I mean, as a return to the series roots, it was a disaster. But as a modern 2d Sonic game it wasn't bad.
I firmly believe episode 2 will be a lot better.
However, Sonic CD on xbla is fantastic, and a steal at 5 bucks. They took an already great game and made it even better. I think its the definitive version of the game, and possibly the best retro release of this year.
I'd say Sonic 4 is still worth experiencing, but there's no contest between the two for this question, and it can wait. Get Sonic CD.

1) I spent the entire day under the illusion that the PSN version was out...until I tried to buy it five minutes ago. Wah.
2) C'mon man, Ukyo > Shampoo.

1) Sorry man, but I'm pretty sure it comes out on the 20th. It won't be long now! I promise its worth the wait.
2) Why must I choose? Can I not have both?

Ukyo is way cooler than Shampoo
I think Sonic 4 might have been passable years ago, but as a modern 2D Sonic game, it reeks of laziness and feels soulless.
I also thought Sonic CD was available on PSN. That kind of sucks as my 360 isn't really hooked up at the moment and getting online with it is a pain since it's an old model without wireless
Sonic CD is really how I wish all retro releases could be done
As for Sonic 4 episode 2, what makes you so sure there will even be one? Seeing Sonic Generations makes it seem unlikely they'll ever return to Sonic 4 in any way, shape or form. Personally, I can't think of a single thing that makes Sonic 4 a game that Sonic fans really need to play. Generations however, looks like a nice combination of old school Sonic and those awesome Sonic/Shadow stages from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 though. I love the sight of Sonic blazing through a stage in 3D

Generations is absolutely brilliant, no doubt. Probably my personal game of the year.
As for Episode 2, there will be one. The new release of Sonic CD was intended to bridge the story a bit for new players, as apparently Metal Sonic will be making a return in Episode 2. The announcement trailer for Sonic CD makes this connection and they've been talking about it off and on, which has amusingly caused some fans to debate Sonic 4's and Sonic Cd's places in the timeline compared to Sonic 2 and 3/K.
I don't see them canceling it at this point. I think Episode 3 will be the big maybe.
On a less "official" note, I would hope they'll take the opportunity to make it better. They've learned a lot with the success of Colors and Generations, both of which are so damn good its almost scary.
