You would be wrong. The "view active topics" link shows you all threads that have been posted to anywhere on the forum in the timeframe you set (24 hours, 7 days, etc.). If you visit/check the site as often as I do, this option is a godsend because it lets you see everything that's been posted on the forum without having to click on each subforum and go through them individually. As is true anywhere else, I can still click on the "new posts since last post read" (the "+" sign) on individual threads as listed in the "view active topics" list.Hobie-wan wrote:Seems like if you only click on that you get a disjointed list and you're going to miss a lot. It only shows 60 of them. I use the full forum list and use the 'last unread post' on all of the topics I'm interested in.dsheinem wrote:how do you figure?Hobie-wan wrote:Booo, if you only use the 'active topics' list, you're using the forum wrong.
If you just look at "view your posts" or "view unanswered posts" you miss quite a lot. I have found I also miss things if I use the "view new posts" option also. Frankly, I can't understand how anyone with as many posts as you could stand to browse the forum in any other way OTHER than "view active topics". I submit that it is YOU, sir, who is doing it wrong.
