Im jealous Hobie, I always wanted the Galaxy Commander. Speaking of old toys, Rokenbok keeps popping up on my banners and youtube ads. I cant justify buying an RC toy loader, but now I really want one. It was the Neo Geo of RC toys.

Re: Too much Lego?
I had a smaller piece from this line. I remember loving it a lot. My youngest brother is really into legos now, especially the star wars sets. We're actually going to take him to the Lego Land in Winter Haven, where Cypress Gardens used to be. They have a bunch of lego displays there, including a scale replica of New York City, Las Vegas, and Key West.Xeogred wrote:
Anybody know of this giant white spaceship set that was like $90-100+? I remember getting that for one Christmas I think, trying to find a picture of it. It was enormous and the two wings could bend downward or be locked in place straight across.

Dammit, I'm gonna end up switching from buying Hot Wheels and Matchbox to Lego sets.

Re: Too much Lego?
Oh, I always played with these back in the day. I've been wanting to pick up some of the Viking Lego sets, but they are expensive outside of Europe. I was always partial to the way those looked, because my house has blue carpet and I would play it was water.
I also liked to mix sets at friends houses, like putting together rock raiders and cowboys. (Ended up making Cowboys and Aliens...) A while back it gave me the idea for my comic, a world where anything can happen, thought is unimportant, and I can bend time to fill my needs. I wanted it to be called "Chopper Viking", about a viking that had his village destroyed by Hell's Angel bikers, one of whom died and left his bike, which Chopper Viking uses to traverse the land in his quest. I really have some ideas for that one...

Never too much, IMO, and thank God for the internet! Now you can see what others can create with Legos, and I really wish they could share the instructions on how they do it, or at least show the techniques that they use for structure and movement.
Re: Too much Lego?
I've been buying some of the new LEGO sets, recently... the new Kingdoms sets are OK- not all of them, but some of them are worth getting. They're pretty cheap at some places around here. Only some, though- the same set that costs 24.99 at London Drugs (and 20% off of that price, at that!) is 54.99 at Toys-R-Us. What the hell?
Also, the alien ship posted up above me wasn't the 100 dollar one...that one was a ~30 dollar one, but the BIG alien ship was definitely 100 dollars and was really really cool. The new alien invasion sets are pretty fun, too

Bumping. Any ideas on a good place to shop for Viking sets? I want the whole run if I can get it, but I'll be damned if I can find them without them being messed up. Stupid 'only run this in part of the world' crap.

Re: Too much Lego?
I came into this thread thinking it would be a rant about how over saturated the Lego video game franchise is.
