Nowadays I can watch WWE any time with Tivo/Sky+ or on Youtube, storylines get leaked and we know all sorts of things about superstars (wrestlers!!!!).
Heh. I remember when the floor mics caught wrestlers ad-libbing during a match (actually talking about what to do next) and it was broadcast as "breaking news." Or the time Hacksaw Jim Duggan (great American man!) was caught while driving with marijuana -- the biggest fallout wasn't the fact he was pulling an RVD, but rather he was in the car with with the Iron "make you humble" Shiek. A heel and face fraternizing?!

I do like how Punk, at least a few months back, was embracing kayfabe by... well, let's face it, pulling a Flying Brian Pillman by dropping names and not caring. It would have been great had he been able to keep giving audiences a nudge-nudge wink-wink a little longer. Probably the biggest reason Internet Champ Zack Ryder is still popular.

To be honest - about 80% of the current roster feel like Ham and Eggers to me..

Man, they're not being subtle about teasing a Cena heel turn are they?

Commercial for next Raw:

"Is the pressure getting to Cena?"

Cue shot of Cena's "Rise Above the Hate" shirt.

I love this, the fans are making this storyline happen as the boos for him have been even louder lately and they're not ignoring it. Piper's whole bit to Cena on Raw could be summed as, "Why don't you turn heel stupid? Everyone obviously hates you. You'll never make it as a babyface even if you are the face of the company. They wanna hate you, so make us hate you. Damnit! Cut a heel promo right now you idiot!"

time for Cena to go back to basic thuganomics.

I could see that happening. I think a heel turn is the only thing that could possibly make me actually like Cena at this point. Sometimes I think the WWE is smarter than we give them credit for. Notice how Piper name dropped guys like the Rock and Steve Austin and showed Cena the difference in the crowd reaction when he mentioned their names and then mentioned his. I thought that was awesome! Even though Piper acknowledged all of Cena's accomplishments, a big part of that Piper promo was him basically saying, "you will never be as popular as those guys, so maybe it's time for you to go in the other direction"

....which worked really well for Triple H for a long time. He was an amazing heel and quite honestly, the best work of his career was during his heel runs. If Cena has even a small chance of ever being as over as a babyface as his predecessors, it won't happen until AFTER he goes heel first. Randy Orton's rise to popularity actually evolved from his heel work

But dude, the thing is Cena looks like he's going to cry when he gets boo'd a lot. Or he'll try to pull out some stupid new moves like he's out to prove something if "You can't wrestle chants" pop up. And now if he fully turns heel, do we have to deal with him looking at the camera every time he walks out with that goofy ass smirk and him say "They love me!"... yikes.

I just want the guy out of here. I know it's asking for the impossible, but face or heel he is garbage.

My friend showed me this Piper interview earlier:

Love what he says at the end. He is definitely fair and seems to still have respect and love for the company and wants nothing but the new guys to succeed, but ... "Today wrestlers go in and wrestler with their mind. Not their heart." Too true in many regards with people like Cena.

Just thought of something today. If vince mcmahon never bought out or did buy out and kept teritories like they did in the 70's and 80's n.w.a, a.w.a, wccw, wwe/f, stampede wrestling, would wrestling be better off than just tna and wwe now. Just a thought that's all
