Because it doesn't feel like a 2D Sonic game should (e.g. Sonic 1-2-3). I also think the series peaked with Sonic 1, for what it's worth.noiseredux wrote:really? How come?dsheinem wrote:shitnoiseredux wrote:seems like a good thread to ask this in then:

I prefer 2. And Sonic CD. I can't say I've spent much time with 3, or Sonic & Knuckles for that matter.dsheinem wrote: Because it doesn't feel like a 2D Sonic game should (e.g. Sonic 1-2-3). I also think the series peaked with Sonic 1, for what it's worth.
Where's the Flake? I'd like to hear what he was to say about 4.
Re: Bet you've never played this Sonic game!
But at least Sonic 2 feels like Sonic 1, even if the level design is slightly less inspired, the music not as good, etc. The problem with Sonic 4 is physics, which is the most important thing in a Sonic game.noiseredux wrote:I prefer 2. You should head over to Best Buy, they usually have a display model out to play.Ziggy587 wrote:According to Wiki, hackers/homebrewers already know about it...

Looks like the screen is really nice, but it only has two face buttons. There's L and R shoulder buttons, so I guess there IS four buttons to use.
I guess because of the nature of this product, it's really hard to find any technical info on it. I was trying to find out simple things and it's a no go. I found the PDF manual on the Leapfrog site and apparently it has a USB and cart slot. But the games look like they come on a CD, unless it's just a DVD size case with a really thin cart inside. I wasn't able to find any pictures.

Sonic 4 has some seriously awful physics. Game manages to somehow feel both slippery and like you're wading through molasses at the same time.noiseredux wrote:really? How come?dsheinem wrote:shitnoiseredux wrote:seems like a good thread to ask this in then:

The game is just ass all around. Just play Generations instead.

Admittedly I'm not a Sonic fan but man Sonic sounded annoying every time he got hit or nearly fell and how many times was the guy waiting on the game to realize he was at the edge of the screen and it should scroll in that direction? That looked like someone's half finished mod project that they never bothered to playtest and fix bugs and playability issues.Balasubbie wrote:I haven't played this one either.
