I don't have a tv to plug and play my consoles. I'm far away from home. I don't buy new games when they come out, I tend to wait a few years. the fastest game I've ever beaten (2-3 days) was Red dead revolver, I had great time. But I haven't gotten around to the other red dead games. I tend to play all types of games except sports games such as madden. Things will change soon... I'm adjusting.

Lack of interest, and i play WoW, it's not that i dont want to, i just dont have the will power to pop the game in and dedicate the next 40+ hours to actually beat the game.

I find if i dont beat the game in a few consecutive sittings, it ends up back in its case for an unknown amount of time.

Currently playing: Driver: San Franciso, and im loving it!

the same as most of you -- other games distract me. Some of my favorite games are long ones I still haven't beaten. Take for example 3D Dot Game Heroes. I adore that game. But I generally play it for 2 or 3 nights in a row, and then put it away for a month or two and come back to it. I'm not always in a rush to beat longer games, and don't mind playing them in bits.

I hate leaving games unbeaten, but if that does happen, it's usually because there's something else in my life that takes greater precedence than video games (school, usually). Unfortunately, this means that any RPGs I was playing usually never get beaten unless I start them over again at a later date. It's really hard to get back into an RPG after taking months off, especially if it's a very story-driven one.

I blame it on too many games coming out. Some new games that get released draw my attention to them, such as Skyrim. Others go straight into the backlog. I have to carefully ration out my time I give to online games such as LoL and TF2 if I want to get anything done.

For me its mainly too many games, and I want to try/play them all. I will get into one title and put some good time into it (right now its skyward sword) but other times I only play a game once or twice before I have already gone on to another. It doesnt help that I always have games coming in from trades or finding them at local thrift stores etc.

I really like online competition. I love TrackMania, Altitude, Team Fortress 2, and now Tribes Ascend Beta.

Usually if I don't finish a game the pacing is off or it's too damn long (both go hand in hand a lot of times).

For example, I finished Shining Force about a week ago and thought it was great. I like RPGs, but I can't stand wasting time grinding or walking around wondering who to talk too. The game is linear, and better for it, as the pacing is great.

Either the game is endless (Civilization, Minecraft) close enough to being endless (Morrowind, Skyrim), or I just have so many my attention spreads too thin. Then there's Phantom Brave, where the characters in the world are so hateful and cruel to Marona they don't deserve to be saved. Let them be devoured by the giant floating skull with arms. I'll chill out on my ghost island and have fun without them.

Definitely school and social obligations. I'm a horrible procrastinator, but I tend to waste my time doing things I feel like I can easily pull myself away from -- video games are not one of those things.
