Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I love thrift stores. Personally like Mom and Pop and little hole in the wall places better than the chain stores. but....

Goodwill can be great. Depending on what the game is, when all SNES games are 4 bucks you can get some great stuff. I've found most of my NES collection there for 2 or 3 bucks a game. Remeber that like every other Saturday is half off and Sundays are 30% off with a student id. (And unlike the movie theatre they don't care when it's valid or not).

I recently got a Dreamcast(with a copy of Sonic Adventure inside), a light gun, 3 controllers, 3 dc brand vmu's, and couple off brand memory cards and rumble packs all for 13 bucks. I've found so many systems its crazy. I pretty much owe half of my game collection to trading the stuff I've found for cheap at thrift stores.

Personally I think Savers is a bigger rip off than Goodwill. At least Goodwill has social programs helping people with disabilites and job placement.

My best find was probably an NES, SNES, and PS2 each with 2 controllers and all hook ups for $12 a piece at Salvation Army. They had a PS3 for the same price, but there was some guy with a huge smile on his face in line with it already. I also got a gamecube there for 8 bucks.

I found a Dreamcast fishing pole (First party) still in the box, never used. The plastic was sealed and everything, only $3. :D

Alot of the times for whatever reason they won't put video games out front. Go to the back where you drop off clothes and other items and ask the guys working if there's any games around. Oftentimes they'll say yeah I think so, and they'll pull out a huge cache of video games.

I've learned over the years it never hurts to asks.

Oh and pictures are still coming of my finds from this past weekends garage sales.

Some VERY nice finds on the thread here. I need to start picking up my game a little bit this is all I was able to find over the weekend.

All Nintendo stuff was acquired for $17, not the greatest deal ever but pretty good.

This one I was incredibly stoked about and have since put it up on eBay. Purchased all in the picture for $35. Everything was CIB. But I've got to say that Metal Slug is awesome, and the NeoGeo gives the GBA a run for its money as far as handhelds are concerned.
