What was the last movie you've seen?

How so? Would Mulvey agree?

Duck, You Sucker with commentary by Sir Christopher Frayling. Great stuff to hear.

I can almost see that from the trailers. I guess I should just go ahead and watch the film and derive my own opinion. I'm not expecting a vampire film from Jane Austin, but with all the talk and praise I would expect at least a half baked, interesting story. That and a buff shirtless man playing a saxophone near a California carnival. Wait. Wrong movie.

I'm not the best person to talk about this, what I know of it came from proof reading a friends essay at university. It was very well argued though. As for Mulvey, I doubt she'd agree, but only because I feel her views lean towards some rather extreme readings of the male gaze personally.

Extreme? She's kind of the baseline/standard bearer of male gaze theory in cinema...

Best ten seconds of the film?
Almost. The part where the credits start rolling is probably the most engaging part.

Steven King pretty much sums it up in one of his quotes:

"Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend.”

Love that movie.

My thoughts on taking time out to watch this movie are dwindling.

No movies tonight unless I get a screener of the final shot of The Muppets!, or as in Germany "Die Muppets!". Oh Germany, still funny.

The FX channel has been playing Twilight quite frequently lately if you're still remotely interested. You'll need those commercials to give your eyebrow a break from twitching.

In other news, I've been avoiding the FX channel like the plague.
