No its not weather the actual game is or isnt in there system. Its weather it says its in stock or not, so I often look for games that were hiddin in a corner and were behind a different game and ask to buy it. If they have it "in stock" i usually put it back if not they give me the game for free lol.aaron wrote:wait, what? how in the world is that game not in their system?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I bought a used copy of Resistance FoM and GameStop and got it free. So they just 'forgot' that they had a copy? With the empty box on display and the disk and manual behind the counter? Hmmm... Riiiiight. I could see it with an old obscure title that was loose but a game for a current-gen system that is one of the more popular titles just screams bullshit. They would know about the title.
Is that the story you told your parents?
I call 5 finger discount...
I once managed to get a mint (in box, with warrenty card and sealed in plastic and everything) green official N64 controller from Gamestation in Manchester for 99p. Because they didn't have a proper price to scan it in on. So it went under Misc Pricing - 99p. It was awesome.
I couldn't believe it, I didn't even expect them to have one. Apparently somebody had just traded it in the other day with a bunch of other N64 stuff.

I tried to buy Soul Caliber III at EB, got the thing home and then realized that there were scratches that let light shine through the entire disk. It made me mad because the guy who sold it to me actually "checked" the disked for scratches. I came in wanting a new copy, but although they had three cases on the wall, they only had one disk in stock.

GameStop (I assume EB does this too now) doesn't have full cases out for people to look at. New games get gutted, the disk is put in some giant sliding drawer, and the case is put out in whatever section it goes in. Used games don't always even get real cases. It's pretty common (for me at least) for them to put a case with the game title printed on, without the cover art.Niode wrote:Yeah that doesn't add up to me...RyaNtheSlayA wrote:No its not weather the actual game is or isnt in there system. Although, it doesn't make sense that he'd get it for free since they could just count the disks up behind the counter...
