Servers? It's peer-to-peer as far as I know. That was the big hoopla about MW2.

Yep, console version is still P2P, with host migrations and all that shabang. I dunno about the PC version though.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Touche, although the other part of my argument still stands. They just keep dividing the communities, abusively and way worse than some big PC FPS's that keep you busy for years (TF2, CS, etc).

First comment

I have legitimate reasons for hating on Call of Duty, as do many other gamers.

Let me put it this way. "Transformers" the movie series is, to me, is the epitome of everything that is wrong with American cinema today.

"Call of Duty" the video game series, to me, is the epitome of everything that is wrong with American video games today.

Both franchises made millions and are liked by many. Doesn't change the fact that I think they make American art mediums look bad.

The article fails to take into consideration that people hate games such as this for the overall effect they have on the industry. It's the same reason people hate "free-to-play" games, or Farmville. Certain attitudes in development and marketing may have a negative effect on games as a whole. It isn't "I hate that Call of Duty game", it's "I hate how the market is flooded with Call of Duty wannabes and games with immense levels of marketing which crowd out games that I, and many other people, would vastly prefer." (as an example)

I wonder how many of those other games would have budgets if COD style games didn't sell through the roof...

Good article. I get sick of COD getting smarmy remarks on game sites every time it's mentioned. You don't like COD, so what? Go play something else.
