I have a genuine DC controller. It sucks for fighting games.CD AGES wrote:For $5-10, you may as well get genuine DC controller. Almost every 3rd party pad made for DC is pretty bad. Madcatz has perhaps the most decent alternative. They also have the best lite gun on the system!
How does a PS2-->DC controller adapter map the buttons?

Just wanted to say that the quantum pad sucks. I am probably the only guy who likes to play fighters with the stock controller.

Nope I'm also one of the few who's perfectly fine with fighters on a good ol DC controller. Issues with fighters normally stem from Six button fighters like MVC1, SF2X, 3S, Double impact, Alpha 3 and Vampire Chronicle. Everything else is all good

Included a pic for a closeup. Note the Autofire and Progam buttons! Interesting that the Start Button matches the Mad Katz Force pack.
Say, what is it with first party controllers not having a simple Auto Fire feature. I'm still looking for a decent Auto Fire Remote for the Wii to kill the Zombies in House of the Dead. That said, why not get a Quantam Pad? It doesn't have to be the only controller for the Dreamcast, just an alternate to try out. Just maybe certain games might work well with the Auto Fire and combo programmable buttons.

I have this baby, or well, a red one:

It's basically a standard controller made more fighter friendly, it's cheap too.
It's a Madcatz Dream Pad, if anyone's interested.

Re: How does a PS2-->DC controller adapter map the buttons?
y'know what makes me really mad? Like 2 weeks ago I bid on an Ascii pad and lost. I think the winning bid was $29 or so. Haven't seen another one go up since, other than the $50 BIN that's been sitting there for a month.

I had one of these till I dropped it on the hard tile floor in my living room and broke the analog stick.

The D-pad was great for emulators, and the rapid fire and slow-mo buttons were kool too.
Other than that, not really recommended for the cheap nature of the plastic.
