pretty good list Luke. Frankenweinie rules. Teen Witch, too. Beetlejuice has an F-bomb. Gremlins I consider Xmas.

^Don't forget that a lot of parents thought Gremlins was a family friendly film and left the theaters extremely upset after seeing the scenes with the microwave, blender, etc.
Of course, I also think it's a friendly Christmas film.

So... Gremlins? BAD FOR KIDS. But Poltergeist is? A PG rated film in which a man rips off his face? GOOD FOR CHILDRENCzernobog wrote:^Don't forget that a lot of parents thought Gremlins was a family friendly film and left the theaters extremely upset after seeing the scenes with the microwave, blender, etc.

Well, I'm guessing the same parents who were upset by Gremlins would definitely be upset by Poltergeist as well.

Holy shit, Poltergeist was only PG?! That movie scared the shit out of me when I was younger.KillerJuan77 wrote:So... Gremlins? BAD FOR KIDS. But Poltergeist is? I believe it was before PG-13 existed. Like Sixteen Candles. There's boobs in that but it's PG.jfe2 wrote: Holy shit, Poltergeist was only PG?! That movie scared the shit out of me when I was younger.

I agree with Gremlins being a Christmas film. It's my second favorite Christmas film too, after Die Hard.

Same here, it was my first horror film (I was 7-8 years old) and I saw it on a neighbors house after they said "COME ALONG, WE'RE SEEING POLTERGEIST, IT'S A HORROR FILM FOR KIDS!", I said yes. Lets just say I quickly hid anything clown related that night.jfe2 wrote:Holy shit, Poltergeist was only PG?! That movie scared the shit out of me when I was younger.
The Legend Of Hell House is also PG and there are a few death scenes, references to necrophilia and bestiality, a girl having sex with a ghost, constant sexual references and partial nudity.

another before PG-13 existed. Remember, PG means "parental guidance" is suggested. I guess when they figured out parents suck at guiding, they made a new rating that put an age right there to make it a little clearer.KillerJuan77 wrote:

I know but it's just that now and then the MPAA is very inconsistent, Rob Zombie had to submit The Devil's Rejects over 15 times just because they didn't like the tone of the movie.noiseredux wrote:another before PG-13 existed.
