Add some of those Famicom framed posters. Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus and Super Mario Bros.

Re: Help me with setting up my game room!
Ok so my roommate is officially out, and we got the tv and stand in, I was mistaken when I first said the size, it is no weak 27 inch, it is infact a 36 inch! I never wanted to play super mario world so bad! We are going for the most use of the space and put the stand and tv in the closet (with the doors taken off of course.
We are very excited to get this underway, and when it is all done you can bet I will be setting up a game night at my place!
I tried my best to get a pic, but it was hard in the dark room.

Re: Help me with setting up my game room!
Anybody know if it's safe to stack your consoles/electronics on top of each other, as long as the vents have some room to vent? I have my modded Xbox (original) on top of my cable box which tends to get pretty warm and most of the vents for the box are free but I don't want to damage either, especially the Xbox.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Re: Help me with setting up my game room!
If there is room for the vents and it isn't sitting in an enclose cabinet that will heat up, it will probably be fine. However I wouldn't stack anything else that closely on top of something else that was getting too warm. When I was cramped for space and had my turntable on top of my amp, since it obviously couldn't be the other way, I had some blocks on the corners so there was an inch gap between them.Evildeadmanwalking77 wrote:Anybody know if it's safe to stack your consoles/electronics on top of each other, as long as the vents have some room to vent? Haha, I opened this thread and thought to myself "...jeez those console boxes are smaller then I remember..." then I saw the size of the TV
I don't do this for lack of space, but if you're stacking console PUT SOMETHING IN BETWEEN THEM. I made this mistake stacking a PS2 on top of my 360...frequently I would stop playing one and turn on the other (or forget, and have both of them running at the same time). I realized my error, one day, when I reached in back to turn off my PS2 and the entire space was almost too hot to put my hand in.

Re: Help me with setting up my game room!
The consoles stacked in the center are purely for space saving reasons, I wont play them in such a manner. I am updating the the first post with some new pics, the Mario wall graphics came in!

Re: My Retro game room updated pics!
Got a couple of steals the last couple days at goodwill, one day I got a samsung DVD recorder so I can record game play for $12, just needed a remote that cost me another $12. It got better, I have been on the lookout for a surround system when I have been out and finally found the right one, JVC TH-M45 for $45! I only had to get the cable to connect the head to the subwoofer, ended up getting it at guitar center for $10, I couldnt find it ANYWHERE but on a whim checked there and got lucky.
I only have the sub and 2 front speakers hooked up so far, need some more speaker wire but it sounds amazing so far, yes it is way overkill for my small game room, but for the cost I couldnt have done any better. Here is a crappy pic of the set up:
I will get better pics once I get it all hooked up and the wires ran neatly.
