Also games like that are not the fun, arcadey titles that Sega used to make.

I wouldn't even mind a Sega with a case of sequel-itis for some of its other franchises besides Sonic. Retro-remakes are pretty popular right now and Sega sits on a massive mountain of old school IPs. The question is if they could garner the talent to make the games quality and worthwhile.

Sheath you are right in a sense. I also dont believe that if Sega made any of their past titles they wouldnt be total hits. Seems like if it isnt a FPS Call of Duty clone it wont sell much. All the gaming public wants its these kind of games anymore with a few exceptions. Also how many old school gamers that are now in their mid 30's(im one) play games anymore. I rarely even play and i dont own any of the new systems.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast

I still can't figure out why Sega Racing Studio and Secret Level were closed down. Aside from the fact that their games didn't sell all that well, and some of them were unfairly critically panned, they made great updates to classic series and very good licensed games. They did better in a couple of years than Sega of Japan managed in the last eight years.

NiGHTs: Jounrey of Dreams, Samba de Amigo Wii, Golden Axe Beast Rider, Afterburner Climax, House of the Dead Overkill.

Still, I get what you mean. Personally though, I'm happy with a lot of Sega's current output, they seem to publish some pretty niche games from awesome companies like wayforward and platinum games.

Considering all of the games had merit, if they weren't just flat out impressive and fresh compared to the flood of sequels everywhere else, I considered that a marketing problem not a development problem. The marketing department responsible for those games should have been replaced, not the developers.

By the way, how are we getting backloggery stats in our signatures?
