but suffice to say, I enjoyed it. I didn't see the last act coming until it was just about underway, and I didn't find the gruesome scenes to be as horrible as they are in more recent films....but I was very impressed with the film's tackling of the subjects it did, in the way it did, in 1972! It is hard to believe the film was made two years before Texas Chainsaw Massacre would just blow the top off the genre...
By far the highlight was the whimsical soundtrack juxtaposed perfectly with everything going on. The performances were believable (for the most part) and the social commentary was smart. Overall a nice introduction to early Craven!
