Did you ever buy a game solely for its box art?

Just about any game with a good cover for the NES & possibly the SNES and GEN are the perfect deceivers.
I bought MegaMan 1 for its box art thinking it was going to be cheesy and found out it was one of the greatest games of all time x.x *joke*

about 7 or 8 years ago I let a friend borrow Vagrant Story from me. I pulled it out the other day because I was going to let it go to someone looking for it on here only to discover disc 2 is missingKingDavid73 wrote:I let a friend borrow my black label copy a couple years after that trade and he ended up selling it to FuncoLand for like $5....Xeogred wrote:I traded a skateboard for FFVII and still have it to this day, it's mint and the black label edition. Racketboy has repeatedly taught me never to let friends borrow games more valuable than Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt.

I once let a "friend" "borrow" a game back in high school. Never got it back.KingDavid73 wrote:I let a friend borrow my black label copy a couple years after that trade and he ended up selling it to FuncoLand for like $5....Xeogred wrote:I traded a skateboard for FFVII and still have it to this day, it's mint and the black label edition. IT WAS FUCKING EARTHBOUND.
Re: Did you ever buy a game solely for its box art?
There are a couple games whose box art made me NOT want to buy them...
The mobile light force (aka castle shikigami) games are bad, and the cover for super bust a move on the ps2 is the worst thing ever.

I'm assuming you mean that the COVERS are bad? FYI: Mobile Light Force is actually Gunbird. But Mobile Light Force 2 is Castle Shikigami. At any rate, both games are excellent.dlmvii wrote: The mobile light force (aka castle shikigami) games are bad,

Yes. Covers. Sorry. The games are good. Also, yes only MLF2 is Castle Shikigami. See, I even knew that and I still screwed up - damn you XS Games!noiseredux wrote:I'm assuming you mean that the COVERS are bad? FYI: Mobile Light Force is actually Gunbird.
