I thought it was your first name and a love for transformers... I guess I was close. And I thought it was Otto, not Ott... my grandpa's name is Otto.

My username doesn't mean anything really. It's the name I gave to my character when I first played KOTOR.

its the name of my band. We make industrial mean electronic music and in our opinion everything in the world is melting down but somehow at a gradual but steady pace? A Gradual Meltdown. Our live shows generally start off well planned and end up completely insane and nothing like we planned at all, usually in a good way, usually :)

It's a nickname I got from other members in my high school jazz band. It was not embarrassing unless you knew the story behind it, so I kept it. I believe this is currently the only place I use it, though.

So your grandpa's name is Otto Ott? That's kind of crazy.

My name comes from a couple different things...

The first part "Spirit" comes from my character's name from when I played Everquest (Spiritist). Most people called me Spirit, for short.

The second part "plx" was also from Everquest. Some foreign guy kept shouting in a zone that he wanted someone to help him get "Matos plx". However, neither of these terms meant anything in Everquest, so he was obviously confused. Upon seeing this, my brother and I developed our own interpretation of plx. It was the combination of the internet shorthand "plz" and "thx", for the ultimate shorthand "plx". From that point on, we always used "plx" when mocking internet shorthand. Yes, a long and pointless story, I apologize.

Well, the two "words" were combined to create the username "spiritplx". Both my brother and I use the screen name for various accounts. So if you see another spiritplx around, it just might be my twin.

Mine is completely lame and not very original. It's my first name followed by the name of my (defunct) band. Woo...Hoo...
