Oh it tops Zero 3. The last boss for Zero 4 is probably the coolest boss fight in the history of fighting bosses. The epilogue ties things up nicely, too.

SPOILERS FOR ZERO 3

Wouldn't it have been awesome if they'd bothered to draw Zero's original sprite in for the Omega copy?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I definitely wish they did. Nonetheless, "it all makes sense now!" haha. Can't wait to play 4!

Yeah, I was really hoping they used the original sprite. Instead they're going with the standpoint that Zero always looked like this.

I seriously think the shoulder pads would make him look 100x better, just those simple shoulder pads.

Admittedly when I think about it, his design here does remind me a lot of his design in the original X. Maybe they were going for that.

Zero 4 beat. I'm a little mixed on it, I think Zero 3 was probably the best all around (with Zero 2 being a close second with some elements), as it really felt like the first two games built up to Zero 3 really well, but Zero 4 was kind of an extension... the story definitely wasn't over by that point, but it just felt like the build up to Zero 3 was a lot better with the characters and all. Zero 4 was by far the easiest and shortest too.

That ending though, wow. Great stuff and I can see why people were maybe comparing it to Gundam earlier in this thread, haha. The final boss theme was incredible, definitely felt like I was saving the world (and fighting some Final Fantasy boss, haha).

All around great stuff. I wasn't really into the collectathon ideas that most of these games had, but yeah. If you're into that I can see these games keeping you busy a good bit longer and there was plenty of other unlockables and stuff.

I'll have to check out ZX Advent sometime. From what I remember of ZX though, I think I'd easily put the Zero games above it.

Before that I think Megaman V (GB) and the X-X2 (GB) games will be next sometime for me.

MMV is amazing. The Xtreme games are really cool, too. They're basically 8bit versions of the X series.

Ah, "Xtreme". I keep forgetting that's what they're really called. Yeah I dug the little I played of both (the music was well done too! the arranged X2 intro stage theme blew me away), need to completely play them and finish them now though.

Epic remix of Zero 4's final boss theme here!

EDIT: It's too bad Inafune didn't pull an ending like that with X5. You guys probably know where I'm going with that, heh.

So "Hard Mode" in Xtreme is basically the second half of the game? Haha. So far I'm really digging it, fun stuff. Looking forward to Xtreme 2!

You get to play as Zero in X1 and X2 stages. Your mind will be blown.

I just beat Zero 2.

I thought it was easier than 1, but a better game just the same.

The mid-game stage was just plain awesome, and with the exception of that stupid rolling frog bastard, all of the bosses were fun.

Although the final boss was far too easy considering how much power he had in story terms.

I also unlocked 9 out of the 10 forms, but none of the ex skills. I'm not good enough for those ranks, heh.

It was interesting to see what had actually happened to X though in the end.

Moving to 3 soon.
