So I requested a refund for RAGE from Steam as even after installing the new patch, all fresh video drivers, trying out various tweaks, etc. - there are still a multitude of problems with the game, which runs buggy, ugly, and often crashes. I'll probably pick it up for the 360 if they grant my request (apparently there is some precedent for refunds), as I am quite interested in playing the game and iD clearly had console development as the lead platform. Such a shame to see how the once-mighty PC developer has fallen on this titleKillerJuan77 wrote:That's too bad, as soon as it gets patched please tell us how's the game. Also, the Steam forum users usually go crazy over the smallest things, although this is a huge issue and I hope that id fixes it soon.dsheinem wrote: I played about a half hour last night and while I enjoyed it (the first "mission"), there was far too much graphical glitching to really want to play for long. Lots of pop in and some screen tearing, etc. I just updated my drivers to see if that will fix it (they were already recent), but I am not optimistic
I have the recommended (not minimum) CPU/RAM and a better that minimum video card in the 8800 GTS 640MB...and it is almost unplayableThe Steam forums are going crazy with people complaining, so hopefully we see a fix soon.
EDIT: yeah, the new drivers made no difference. Here's what the game looks like for me (and many others) -
When games are designed for the PC, they are often much better than any ports on the consoles. When games are designed for consoles and ported to the PC, bad things usually happen. iD was traditionally a company that did things the right way, but it seems they did not this time.noiseredux wrote:what did I tell you about PC gaming, Dave?
