I'd like to change my "Something on TurboGrafx" choice to Soldier Blade. It's vertical and is on TurboGrafx 16, VC, and PSN.alienjesus wrote:How about Star Soldier? 1942? Xevious? Raiden?
BTW, I have no idea on prices for these, I just know they have a ton of ports.

I'd be fine with any of those. Though Xevious doesn't exactly get me excited.

As these are your first choices and aren't bolded, should I count them as +1s?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Honestly I'm up for just about any game this year but I figure I'll just throw out my top picks:

Jan: Adventure – Golden Axe Warrior
Feb: Fighter –
Mar: RPG – Elder Scrolls:Morrowind
(or GRANDIA, I hear it's better than 2 which I've finished. I liked the idea of a Dragon Quest game too by the way, but oh well... lol).
Apr: Sports or Racing – Wipeout
May: FPS – System Shock 2, more people need to play it. Or Doom...
(but I'd probably just play a megawad)
Jun: Strategy – Ogre Battle or OB64
Jul: Runngun or beatemup – Gunstar Heroes or Guardian Heroes
Aug: Party game – A Bomberman game
Sep: Platformer – Great Giana Sisters
Oct: Horror-related – Silent Hill or Alone in the Dark
Nov: Puzzle – Lemmings
Dec: Shmup – Something on Turbografx

Yeah, I forgot to mention most favorable to least favorable. Go ahead and put +1salienjesus wrote:As these are your first choices and aren't bolded, should I count them as +1s?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Honestly I'm up for just about any game this year but I figure I'll just throw out my top picks:

Ikaruga is on XBLA and DoDonPachi is on PSN, so cheap options exist. Besides, Ikaruga for GCN is only around $25, last I looked.noiseredux wrote: Dec: Shmup – (Gunbird II was my nomination, but no real preference since I just love shmups in general -- though I do think that DDP or Ikaruga might be a little high-priced considering people shot down my Skies of Arcadia nomination and that game generally goes for less...)

didn't know it was on XBLA. Was just saying -- Skies was going for $20-$30 on GCN and it seemed to get squashed. I don't give an F. I'll play Ikaruga.dsheinem wrote: Ikaruga is on XBLA and DoDonPachi is on PSN, so cheap options exist. Besides, Ikaruga for GCN is only around $25, last I looked.

Also, this is hardly "retro" - if we look at the history of the series we haven't played anything that was from 1999 or later other than Crazy Taxi, I believe...noiseredux wrote: Dead or Alive 2 (if we go 3D)
