I suggested it last year, but I guess people don't want to play it without having played the first.

Early on, it seemed like Racing/Sports was getting the most suggestions and would be the hardest to decide. Now it's definitely gonna be RPGs

I know I was the one who nominated Guilty Gear for fighters, and I stand behind tha one, but if a 3D title is preferred, then I'd second DOA2.

It's a fantastic game, but it's a tough one to get into. You will spend a lot of time rolling new characters, and still probably get killed on the way to the equipment shop. It's a very grindy game, and it's not shy about putting you in over your head.

Don't get me wrong, the danger makes the game exciting. But also frustrating. It's definitely a game of its time, much like Deja Vu was. Seeing how well that was recieved, I don't think Bard's Tale would do well here.

If you want to play it for historical interest however, it's a great choice.

Yes please! There's even a new implementation of the engine that runs on a number of different platforms.

Edited new suggestions and +1s into the last update.

I was looking at the suggestions for Beat 'em up and run 'n' gun, and I'm really opposed to Gunstar Heroes personally. It's a fantastic game, but I have a feeling the majority of people have already played it. I know I have, loads and loads of times. I was hoping for something a little less obvious tbh.

I'd be happy to add +1 to Stakes Winner.

Also, I'm not sure if that as many folks as you think have played Gunstar since it was traditionally a pricier game. It saw PSN/XBLA release in the last year or so, though, so can be played for a reasonable sum now...

I actually sort of felt the same way about Gunstar as AJ. I'd probably be more into doing Guardian Heroes as a beatemup choice instead.

ICO - Lost in the Shadow - Limbo Month
As an Adventure or Platformer. The recent PS3 HD release screams for comparison of the PS3 to the PS2 version, I think it will getting a lot of play time anyways. To cover other systems, this might be a stretch but maybe include Wii Lost in the Shadow and even PSN/XBLA/Steam Limbo? The shadow games seemed to have drawn inspiration from ICO.
