I was thinking Virtua Tennis. Those games are on like every platform including handhelds.alienjesus wrote:For Sports I think maybe we could do the Mario Tennis games. I know they're not very realistic or anything, but there are mario tennis games on GBC, GBA, N64, Gamecube and Virtual Boy, plus there's a new one due out on 3DS next year.

Thanks alienjesus. I would lump pinball in with party games this year.
As for FPS titles, May is the 20th anniversary of Wolf3d. We could do a 2 parter that month and do Wolf3d and its predecessor Castle Wolfenstien (which is like a Metal Gear title).

Any other ideas for RPG's from anyone? Any other strategy games from anyone? Gunstar should be bolded since I co-signed it.
Re: Together Retro 2012 Nominations & Discussion Thread
I took a moment to think of stuff
Jan-Adventure:Young Merlin,Star Tropics or Golden Axe Warrior.
Feb-Fighter:Tekken 3 or Darkstalkers 3
Mar-RPG:Car Battler Joe,Final Lap Twin or PhantasyStarIV
April-Sports/Racing:CrashTeamRacing,Wipeout,WaveRace,HydroThunder or SEGA Bass Fishing.
May-FPS:Jumping Flash, sorta a platformer but I think he shoots death beams too
Jun-Strategy:Advance Wars or Ygddra Union
July-RnG/Beatemup:Astroboy Omega Factor or Guardian Heroes
Aug-Party:Bomberman in some form
Sep-Platformer:Flashback:Quest for Idenity
Oct-Horror:Zombies ate my neighbors
Nov-Puzzle:Dr.Robotniks:MBM/Dr.Mario
Dec-Shmup:Stringer or R-Type.RaidenIV maybe?
Sorry of just doing a list with little explanation, but most of it there is familiar stuff.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

RPG- How about a Dragon Warrior/quest title? I don't know which title but the series has had a rebound in the states and the remakes are readily available.

Bolded Sparkster and Gunstar because I missed those.
I'm liking the list at the minute too, I think it's looking better than this years one. I just hope we don't force through any games that actually don't really get played *cough* Populous *cough*, but these all seem like they'll be great popular choices. I want to play basically all the games in the Adventure, Party, and Shmup categories, and most in all the others.

^ Bomberman! That'll get my vote.
@Noise: For RPGs, since you're asking, I'll vote for Ogre Battle (or OB64) twice, since it's not only a strategy game, but also an RPG. And it's great, the best RPG on the N64.
Another suggestion would be Revelations: Demon Slayer for GB/GBC, since everyone should play this at some point. :P
