I envy you! I can only play for a few minutes at a time as I work my way through RE1 for the 'cube. I damn near shat my pants when those dogs crashed through the windows, even AFTER Noise warned me about it.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Haha, that's the same for me too dude. Even when I know it's gonna happen, it still gets me. I prefer the original re's over the gamecube ones because of the hilarious dialogue from re1 and 2. It's classic. Plus I heard that the gc ones are harder, but I've only played the ps1 versions

This. Also, only version with proper third-person controls.

I guess I will be playing RE2 on the Dreamcast then

I have respect for originals, but when a newer game is released with higher resolution, better graphics, and glitches have been cleared...Why do you want to play the original...other than for novelty? Or to say I played the original:P

say: I will play RE:Archives on Wii. Is it same as Director's cut or I shouldn't worry about it?

Resident Evil (Gamecube) or RE Archives (Wii) are the same remake of the original. You can jump straight into those if you want, but if you play them before DC, 2, 3, or CV you'll probably never want to play them. I recommend playing all the originals first because they're such unique experiences (for their time)... plus the remakes of the first game have all sorts of extra stuff and it's fun to go into it with the original in your mind. With all that in mind, and all that I've gathered about which versions are which, play these: PS1 RE:DC, Dreamcast RE 2, 3 and CV, then the Gamecube or Wii remake, then RE: Zero for GCN or Wii, and then RE 4 on the Wii. That's my opinion as a RE fan since they came out (I was 13 or so) and that's all I'll ever tell anyone who asks for advice in the RE department. But the choice is yours. Good luck.

edit: erm, guess i pretty much said all of that a while ago... i forgot what i wrote originally and didn't feel like going back to reeeaaaad it... but yea, have fun

I would have liked it if the original formula stuck around

effin ay. and the survival horror thing was working so well... however, re4 is pretty intense.. i just wish the game didn't tell you when you were looking at an item, it was fun searching every corner and nook in the classics
