Could the fight with Revolver Ocelot be any easier? I remember when I was a kid and just outright dominating his ass every time I played. I even remember finding the exact right spot to plant a C4 so that it kills Ocelot, but doesn't kill the hostage.AppleQueso wrote:The added MGS2 moves make most of the boss fights pathetically easy (ESPECIALLY the first one with Ocelot.)

Re: METAL GEAR SOLID (HD remakes)
Don't get me wrong, I like what Harry Gregson-Williams brought to the series with MGS2 and up, especially MGS3's OST (I don't think MGS4's is very memorable outside of the game), but the original games OST remains as one of the most memorable game OST's I've ever heard and a favorite. The whole thing just echoes the main theme throughout and all the synths just fit perfectly (I've got a love for this kind of stuff, like MOD based music, see Deus Ex and Unreal's OST's). I realize Williams didn't compose for Twin Snakes, but you can kind of tell they were going for that kind of style.Stark wrote:Hmm that's interesting. I have terrible memory, I liked em both and was just excited to have (what I thought was) a port with updated graphics.Xeogred wrote:You forgot the key one for me: different OST.AppleQueso wrote:[Why TTS is stinky]
Absolutely no competition in my book. "Escape" gets my pumped.

Something she makes no secret of, but as you said win-win.elmagicochrisg wrote:She just wants your stuff out of the living room. The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I just started playing Metal Gear Solid for the first time (I hate stealth games but utterly loved policenauts, I figured I have had the game in my library for years, I will just push through and try it.
Just beat the first 'boss', love it

Yeah, it's not game over if you're caught (HOLY CHRISTMAS FISHER, I'll never let that go...), so you don't even have to play the MGS games stealthy unless you up the difficulty a lot. Which is why I love them. Great replayability and everything.

Re: METAL GEAR SOLID (HD remakes)
A Limited Edition has been announced. It's not for sale anywhere yet except Amazon. Also, the Amazon page can't be found with a regular search yet, so here's a link. I pre-ordered it, although I'm not sure I want the LE bad enough to pay $30 extra. Amazon doesn't charge for pre-orders until they ship, so I'm getting my foot in the door, just in case. I do like the idea of that art book, though. I really like MGS's art that's found on the boxes and manuals, especially the front cover of Sons of Liberty.

Well, sorry for those in Europe, but you're gonna have to wait till February 3rd.

The good news however, is you'll be getting the Ultimate HD Edition. It's apparently exclusive to the PS3 and Europe, and comes with MGS4, a download code for MGS1, and five art cards. All of it comes in steel book packaging.
