Why don't you take a ruler and just measure the jack?

It depends on the jack. I use chassis mount ones.

Indeed, different jacks will be different. It will likely be around 5/16 or 3/8 which should be included in any halfway decent starter drill bit set. Just remember that you want to drill into plastic slowly. You want to cut it, not melt it.

You may want to drill a smaller hole than you need and then use a circular file to get the correct diameter. This worked for me doing an S-video mod to a Genesis, gave me a nice snug fit.
