Yes the saturn is completely over rated unless you like shumps, amazing 2d fighters, unique rpg's and the plethora of other titles I haven't mentioned....
Nights into dreams is worth entry price alone.
Did I do the the blue right????
Is the Sega Saturn overrated?
Re: Is the Sega Saturn overrated?
I think it's also worth mentioning that the Saturn version of Megaman 8 is superior to the PSX version and all the subsequent re-releases. So go buy a Saturn, kids. Okay?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I didn't read all 16 pages, but it is worth noting that unless you plan on importing, the Saturn might have limited appeal to most people. The US version has some great hidden gems, RPGs, and arcade ports, but the imports is where it's at. Tons of fighters, shumps and puzzle games!

Hey I'm just being honest haha. To truly experience your Saturn you need divulge into imports. If one feels that importing will be too much a hassle, too expensive, or just not interesting your choices in games will diminish.mjmjr25 wrote:^Thats it? However, as an advocate for the Saturn, I will certainly contend that everyone should buy one, even if they plan on only doing the US route. There are only a few RPGs (when compared to ps1), but are all solid for most part, Dragon Force being a personal favorite. Quirky/unique games are also a major selling point. Who could go wrong with Mr. Bones? Not me!

Why the North Stars girl? We sent them to Dallas because when you hear about a sport played on ice Texas is the first thing you think of right?

Another thought.
I'm not sure about the Japanese side of things but at least from the huge amount of games I've played in the US library the Saturn seems to be a bit tame. That's not to say Sega didn't put out new and interesting IP, it just doesn't have as many of the Eccos, Jet Grind Radios, and other off the wall games that Sega had on the Genesis and Dreamcast.

Re: Is the Sega Saturn overrated?
If you look at the regional sales figures for all the Sega consoles, you'll notice that the Saturn's sales were the most lopsided in favor of Japan of any of their systems, while it was the exact opposite with the Dreamcast. That's why Dreamcast and Genesis, from a non-importing American's point of view, have much better libraries than the Saturn. They had to cater to a more Western market.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Another thought.
