Whelp, that was a fairly fun ride. As a huge fan of the first game however and a rare fan of Invisible War, I did have my issues with it.
- Characters. This game really lacked good and interesting characters, which I'd even say IW is miles above in this regard. Outside of Jensen and the pilot, there was really no other character in the game I legitimately liked or had any kind of attachment too. Now this is a big issue because towards the end, like the previous games, you've got multiple people in deciding who you want to side with... but I didn't really care about any of them at all. In the original, even the villains were awesome and the whole thing did the gray line stuff pretty well. All the alternate endings were compelling in deciding which one you wanted to go with. I won't say the endings in any of the games are their strongest points, but in this case... I just didn't really care which choice I went with. I saw all the endings and they were decent, but not that great. - The story was decent, but overall honestly started feeling more like Metal Gear Solid kind of stuff to me than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I love my MGS, but that's not Deus Ex. Once again, I'd say even IW beats it out here. I never felt like I was the avatar of the game here and was just watching Jensen from a 3rd perspective. So I think that kind of minimized how engaging the experience was as well. In addition to this, Jensen just felt like a tool lapdog throughout the entire thing. This was true to say, like the 1/4th of the original game, but beyond that... I like how deep it got with governments and underground stuff (as cheesy as they may be), HR just didn't feel that way at all and you feel like you're a tool for the whole ride. At least I did. JC takes matters into his own hands, but it felt like Jensen never really did that. - The music was good and fitting, but it's just pure ambiance. A common issue for a lot of new games however, too much focus on atmosphere rather than being melodic. I doubt this OST will be that memorable at all. IW was faulty like this as well. - Boss battles sucked, plain and simple. No, they weren't extremely frustrating, but just so out of place I hated them. And "THAT" was the final boss? That character? You kidding? - The "AI" was disappointing. Not to spoil it since I'm sure all of you guys who have played the other games can see such a thing coming, but yeah. It was an interesting idea, but just seems far more advanced and unrealistic compared to the later games.
Overall, an interesting and decent buildup into the other games, but it could have been better. I'm not sure where my friend heard this either, but he said they supposedly scrapped 3 other hub worlds in the development process, which kind of sucks I guess.
But in the end, it was still fun and worth playing for sure. All in all, I'd put it on par with Invisible War.

I beat this one spaced out between three days, and I had a lot of fun with the campaign. It felt like an action film on steroids... but not in a bad way. The story was genuinely interesting IMO, and made me appreciate Killzone 3's plot a bit more. Kinda makes me want to go back to play the original Killzone as well.
I do love this game and really only knock two parts of the game. The subpar graphics of the World sections and lame Magic animations are the only disappointing bits. I enjoy pretty much the rest and although it's not a must play, it is a should play

I'm not sure if this counts, since it was in two-player mode with continues. But yeah, I really enjoyed this game and will keep playing for sure. It was the first Metal Slug I played, but I'm sure there will be others to follow.

Started testing the game on my friend's 3DS and ended up playing through the whole thing... lol
I must say I really enjoyed this game in 3D. It's a little hard on the eyes sometimes though. When an enemy gets behind you for instance. Also in mission 6 on the rotating disc I sometimes had trouble focussing. But it's a fun game, and well worth playing in 3D. I'm sure there will be more 'test sessions' in the near future... ^^

I almost forgot to add Mario Golf!
Anyhow, Mario Golf is a fun, arcadey golf game by camelot, with some RPG elements. It was kind of odd because it barely had any mario stuff in story mode. In fact, the only thing you see thats mario related before you beat the game is the odd mario enemy who rewards you with an item if you bop them with a golf ball, and they're fairly well hidden themselves. Still, the game was fun, easy to learn and not too hard overall, and I enjoyed it. It was weird how similar it was to Golden Sun. Sure, it was on the same engine, but the sprites wer ein the same style, the little golden sun emoticon speech bubbles were used, it had the exact same YES/NO dialogue box and the music used the same digitised instruments. Even weirder, I swear one of the tracks that plays is from Mercury Lighthouse in Golden Sun. Good game overall.
Phantasy Star was a very, very old school RPG. To even get started I had to spend 2-3 hours grinding on early game enemies so I didn't get slaughtered in only 2 or 3 random encounters. True story - the very first time I ever played this game, I walked out of the town, encountered an enemy, and lost to it. I game overed on the FIRST ENEMY of the game. It wasn't even that I'd taken a wrong turn, it's pretty much the weakest enemy >_<. Strangely enough though, once I'd done that little bit of grinding, the game wasn't that hard, and I didn;t need to grind too much. It was also fairly nice with hints on what to do next, even if it didn't often outright tell you where to go. There were annoyances - you can't choose which enemy to attack, the randomisation on damage is huge (honestly, my guy with an 80 power axe varied between 1 and 50 hit points of damage all the time, with enemies at the endgame having 120+ HP, it was rather a major variation), you can't choose which enemy to target (which means you cant even target one enemy to make up for the unknown damage output) and the order of attacks each round seemed totally random, normally in the enemies favour. The dungeons got a bit redicilous towards the end, but by that point i'd given in mapping them myself and was using pre-drawn ones so whatever. A good game overall, but I don't think I'm in a rush to try the sequels.
