I like the remake, and I've never played the 2-d ones, the oldest console I have is a Dreamcast, I can't afford anything, my parents won't pay me, and I can't get a job. I will in demolition next year. So I'll probably have a lot more consoles then.Lodestar wrote:Thanks for the review, I just finished Super Metroid, so I guess I'll be moving onto Prime next.
Have you played all the 2-d ones, OP?
For anyone into the series, keep an eye on this project that's nearing completion: http://metroid2remake.blogspot.com/

Re: Metroid Prime Review
Have you tried Metroid Prime 2? I'm wondering if it's an improvement over the first game or not? I'll probably end up getting it anyways but I was just wondering Other People's opinions.

Re: Metroid Prime Review
Metroid Prime 2 doesn't quite have the same traditional metroid feel Prime had.
Some of Prime 2's draw backs are:
-Ammo for beams
-Ramped up difficulty/some annoying bosses
-Fairly linear compared to the first Prime and quite a bit of backtracking.
-The plot has less to do with pirates and metroids.
However much of the graphics and environments are a slight improvement over the first prime and there's more abilites and power-ups you can collect (such as more missles and the screw attack). Prime 2 also has some of the coolest suit designs in all the metroids I think and it has some pretty cool gameplay (switching between light and dark world).
Overall I think if you enjoyed the first Prime you'd definitely find the second one enjoyable, if not slightly more difficult. It just doesn't have the same magic as the first one to me, but I still had fun playing it.
Hope that helped.
