That's changing now.
Hopefully this brings the prices down for Radiant Silvergun on Ebay. I still don't have that game.
I highly doubt additional ports or emulations of RSG or just about any game for that matter will affect the price of any other version, in this case the SAT-J version of RSG.

People want it because they want it, anyone can already play the game on MAME or play a burned copy, this hasn't dropped the price - an XBL or PSN or a release on disc on any system will not change that.

Plenty of games have been released on compilations or XBL/PSN download and prices have not changed: Radirgy, Chaos Field and Karous are prime examples of that (can have them both on one wii disc for $10) - yet the DC versions still sell for $50+ as they did before the Wii game came out. Look at all the PSX classics that are available on PSN for $7-10 - it hasn't dropped the orginal PSX games.

I'm worried that you may be right. It could even increase in price as the new download version raises awareness for the game.

^ I've found that exact case to be true...in the case of RSG in fact. When rumors of online downloads first surfaced about a year ago, RSG CIB was going for around $120-130 w/the rare $150+. Now the norm is more $130-140 with random $200+ out there. Simply more awareness in the general public created more demand for the original SAT game.

The original STV cart now routinely fetches $400-500, which is also higher now...

Yeah, I doubt it will lower in price.

Ikaruga has had a physical and digital release, and still the DC port holds its value.

Even less popular games like Psyvariar 2 hold their value when rereleased.

I do hope the xbla port is solid and contains all the modes included in the saturn port. A translation would be ace.

If its lacking though, then it might drive the originals up even higher.

Either way, the saturn still has Battle Garegga, Batsugun, Blast Wind, Hyper Duel, and many many other shooters.

You really can't top that Garegga port, its high quality. The game has tons of options, an arranged soundtrack, and secret characters. Plus, the game itself is great, and very true to the pcb

The saturn has a ton of interesting exclusives and some superior versions of cross-platform games.

One of the reasons I like the sega saturn is because there are so many accessories to buy for it. I really enjoy collecting accessories and the saturn's got lightguns, multitaps, controllers, arcade sticks, 3d controller, etc.
