Why avoid the imports though?
can a stock US dreamcast play imports?
i never really tried import looking because i am not into modding systems or performing disc swapping.
if you took a shit, please put it back

The disc swapping is really no big deal in exchange for playing some of the best shmups ever made. You can also just burn self booting CD-Rs if you're okay with that.

Mars Matrix is right at the top of my Dreamcast shmup list. Top 3 for sure.

I just burned a boot disc, load that up and swap discs.
Worth it just for Border Down and Zero Gunner 2. Those games are amazing, easily some.of my favorites on any console

Absolutely. Border Down was the game I was thinking of with my "best shmups ever" comment.

Aren't you guys using boots and burned discs worried about wearing down your DC's laser? That's a big reason why I haven't used my boots and have been holding out for an imported system.. Thoughts?

oddly enough, I bought the Japanese version of Gunbird 2. I wasn't aware there was a US release. Haha.
